Many people ask me how I’m able to come up with so much content- unique social media posts, content for video, blog posts. It’s cute that they think I’m special and so creative. Well I am a creative, but when it comes to content, I am inspired by action. My content comes from real life experience. I don’t write about things I don’t know anything about.
The trick to good content is this... learn, implement, and teach. That’s right get LIT!
Take a course, read a book, and get busy in your business..then use this experience and your ahas to inspire and teach others. When I’m coaching my team, following up with my clients, prospecting potential business partners, developing new relationships with clients, or setting up new tools for my business, I am experiencing working in my business. Sometimes I am testing something new, and sometimes I am implementing a strategy that is super affective...so I share what is working for me at the moment.
I’m 100% certain that if you are working in your business, you have experience to offer your audience. You may think that everyone knows more then you, but trust me when I say, you know atleast 1% more than most people. New people are starting businesses every single day, and if you remember what it was like when you started, you’ll remember what it feels like to be a rookie and know very little. People need you to step up and pay it forward to your industry and niche. Be generous with your knowledge, focus on your strengths and the things about your business that excite you or have changed your life, and know can make a difference in the lives of others.
7 Types of Content that will help position you as an authority in your niche.
Brainstorm some ideas while you can let your mind wander - doing housework, walking, working out. And then track your ideas somewhere so you can draw from them when you need to sit down and create content.
Video: Yup its time for Video. It is the most effective and you don’t want to get left behind. Think about doing a Live Video once a week to offer value. Save it to your phone and then upload it to youtube. Then repurpose it into a blog post. You can even use snippets of it in your IG or Snapchat Stories.
Text statuses: Posts that ask questions, ask for feedback, and inspire engagement.
Graphics: Create custom graphics on Canva. Make sure you create branded templates with your logo or name on it.
Quotes: Whether they are inspirational, motivational, or spark a sense of humour, these are the kind of posts people share, which leads their audience back to you. I like to make these in graphics in Canva.
Use the experiences of your client consultations to create videos. Interview people in your networks who are doing cool things in the business world. Turn your team trainings into content that more people in your industry could benefit from.
Shared content: Share created by others that complements your business. You want to share the love around, and you must do first for others what you would like others to do for you. Have an abundance mindset when it comes to business, and what goes around will come around.
Promotional: Don't forget, it is OK to promote your business! Its all about how you do it. Remember to focus on promoting the solution not the product. Include a call to action to subscribe to your channel or your list. Share your special offers. Follow the 80/20 rule, 80% value and 20% promotion. People will want what you have when you can show them why they need it.
Repurpose your content. Your audience will constantly evolve and grow, and those new people need to see your previous content. So recycle and reuse. The beauty of leverage. Mix it up, have fun, and always lead with value!
